Receive Jesus As Your Savior and Lord -
Are You A Christian?
The Christian life begins with your faith and trust in Jesus Christ to be your personal Savior and Lord. The Bible teaches us that Jesus is God's Son who came to live for us and died for us on a cross. He died for our sins and physically arose from the grave proving his deity and victory over our sins and the grave. Through our acceptance of Jesus into our lives, turning from sin and confessing Him as our Savior and Lord, we become part of His family and followers. Maybe you have stumbled onto this site and have never truly made peace with God about your relationship with Him. The Bible affirms time and again that God loves us. He has a plan for our lives. Our lives do not have to be meaningless. We can be filled with purpose, peace and a right and upward direction.
Here are some verses of scripture that are important and will be helpful to you.
Romans 3:23 says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." This means all of us are sinners. We sin in some way every day. Becoming a Christian doesn't mean that you'll never sin again. All people in some way sin or make mistakes every day. Becoming a Christian means that sin is something you no longer want to do. You no longer seek to do sinful things and no longer want to live a live that is dominated by sin.
Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Sin is disobedience to God. Sin also brings consequences. If you plant corn you will reap corn. If you drive a 100 MPH in your car you will eventually wreck or get a speeding ticket. When you live a life of sin you will eventually reap bad things. The Bible says we reap death. Death is separation from God. The greatest loss and suffering is to be separated from the power and love of God. People who die without Jesus are lost and the wages is eternal death separation from God. Nothing could be worse than to be eternally lost and separated from the love of God.
Romans 5:8 says, "God commends His love toward us. While we were sinners Christ died for us." This means even while we are being disobedient to God and living a life of sin that God reaches us to us in love. Jesus died for us. He died knowing the failures and sins of mankind. The Bible teaches time and again that God is a loving God and reaches us to us. He is reaching out to you at this very minute. He never stops loving us.
Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead that you will be saved. Becoming a Christian and being saved from your sins starts with a heart decision to believe and receive Christ. Secondly, you confess Christ to others. Jesus said, "If you will confess me before men, I will confess you before my father which is in heaven." Matthew 10:32
Romans 10:13 says, "Whoever calls upon the name of The Lord will be saved." Again the Bible affirms that we have a loving God who is willing to save those who will call upon Him to forgive us and save us.
